The wide variety of kicks in hapkido is a distictive feature of Korean martial arts. Taekwondo kicks appear to be similar to many of the kicks found in hapkido, though circular motion is emphasized. 

 Differently to modern taekwondo, Hapkido utilises a wide variety of low kick (below the waist) shch as hooking or sweeping kicks and the low spinning and sweeping heel kick. The low spining and sweeping heel kick is the most distinctive one not found in other martial arts.
